Day Eleven

Today is my 11th day of practicing meditation and I am suddenly wishing that I had more time to write and learn about what I am doing. I am showing you only a glimpse of what I am experiencing and am almost struggling to find the right words to describe how I am feeling.

I seriously did not mean to rhyme then..See my whole life is turning into this poetic state of mind, body and words.

I started practicing meditating for 20 mins last night so I will attempt the same again….

So I just tried something new. I started saying a mantra in my head. My mother used to meditate and she use to say the mantra ma ra na tha so you would breathe in for ma ra and out for na tha…I know this actually means something in Christian meditation which I will find out. It was actually really helpful and the sounds make you really focus on the words with less focus on your thoughts.

Another strategy I tried was to turn my thoughts into clouds. As soon as a thought came into my head I turned it into a cloud and gently pushed it away. I was quite amazed how well this worked.

I don't know if it's wrong to do too many things at once during meditation but I think you just need to find what works for you. Which is what this whole exercise is about really and I plan to also draw upon different religious practices and their different methods of meditation.

Will keep you posted
